Hello everyone I was wondering if someone could help me in creating some coding. I have a website www.bassenkornzweigfoundation.org and at the top you will notice that it says donate now to help a child , well i am using google check out and right now i am awaiting approval for their NPO program however i was told it takes a while and i would like to change that button to say donate instead of buy now however i havent been able to so i thought i sould create my own. how do i create my own button but still leads to goole check out or maybe some other checkout program BUT NOT PAYPAL.

Thanks

Why not paypal? Bad time with them? Sadly from a "Donate now" it is probably your best option (Charity declaration etc - can get you in very hot water in the UK if not handled righyly)

I am sorry we WILL NEVER use paypal again .We began with them and they stole some of our money. We are currently in legal procedures with them . We are a legit charity and we want a button that we created if possible but i see that no one on here knows how to do that. I specifically stated in my inital post NO PAYPAL and both responses were paypal. Thank you anyways.

There's no need to get irate. PayPal is still #1 for this sort of thing, so you have to expect that people are going to go that route - even if they didn't READ what you posted. PayPal can be a real problem, especially when disputes arise, I wish you luck with your lawsuit.

It's not all that hard to create a button, you can find plenty of FREE graphics for the button itself. Adding the coding to point the button click to your payment processor of choice is nothing more than using most of the same form code that's there now, just using your button.

I agree with LadynRed. Your response came across as a bit irate, you asked for help and okay you said NO PAYPAL (why shout by the way), but if you look at my response all I asked was "Why no paypal'. We all find them difficult from time to time (indeed I had a complaint against me for being one day late on delivery, the customer had received their goods but then claimed the money back in full from paypal screwing up a $150k per annum business for goods which they had signed for e.g. they basically wanted to take delivery and not pay, so if you are p*ss*d off at paypal then join the queue - but life moves on so get over it - I wonder how much of your charities money you are wasting on the lawsuit, which no offence but if you are going head to head with a billion dollar corp you are unlikely to win - you don't state how they stole your money, if you did then maybe we would all have more sympathy. Alas I can think of no one else who does a "donate" facility. You could make up your own with any payment processor and simply get a "donate" graphic button made up. However then you are into all the legal & financial legalities surrounding charity donations vs the taxman and therein lies your problem!.

I don't think it's that complex a problem.. all she wants is a different BUTTON.

To be quite frank, the reasons why someone doesn't want to use PayPal, or any other service, is their business, I don't think an explanation on their part is necessary.

Are you able to control the buttons image src? Why not just make your own button in Fireworks or Photoshop and link to that? Heh..don't know if this would work, but you could always maybe use CSS if you want to keep the general design. Place like a span or something and position it right over the button and use position:relative; and z-index to make the text appear over the buttons text? Not sure if that would work, but the attempt would be funny in itself

Cheers
