Alright I hope this dosent sound dumb because I am a newbie . Anyways I am trying to make a mask from a background image to text.

What I mean is I want the text to only show the background image, and white all around the text, but I am having difficulty doing this using text. If someone could give me a step by step instruction it would be GREATLY apreciated!

Hiya, how you doin?..

OK, There are two ways of doing this, Ill give you the asiest one!

1. Use your image as the background layer.
2. Click the type tool, and hold until yu find the wee "dotty" T, thats the text mask tool.
3. Click to begin typing, roughly where you want to collect the information from the image.
4. Youll get a shaded mask over the images dont worry!
5. Type your word, (you can alter the font etc BEFORE you click outta the mask, but not after)
6. You'll then have a dotty empty word.
&. Copy and Paste, which will pop your image filled word onto a layer of its own
8. Delete the image layer, and you got it!

cheers, scotia
