Hey everyone, I'm new to web design and own frontpage 2003. I know its an older software and most are using Dreamweaver but I was just curious if anyone still uses it and if anyone has any sites that they created with frontpage which are comparable to those made with newer programs. So please just post any links to sites you've made with frontpage. Thanks in advance!

You have my sympathies .

The problem with FP, besides being dead software, is that it creates sites that ONLY work properly in IE, and will break in pretty much any other browser out there. If you don't want to alienate any of your visitors, you should NOT be using FP.

FP has been replaced by ExpressionWeb, which is a far cry better than FP and does at least produce code that works with most modern browsers.

FYI, there is an extension available for DW that will clean up that old, nasty FP code.

Hey, thanks a lot for the tip. I always thought frontpage 2003 was the up to date web-design software made by Microsoft but apparently it wasn't.

My sites have been designed in Frontpage because it's the only thing I know in and out, but I've been making the transition to Dreamweaver because after reading up on Frontpage and all the extra crap that comes along in your HTML and Files, I figured it was time for me to make the switch.

I have an older version of Dreamweaver, it was a part of the Macromedia MX Suite? How outdated is that today?

Extremely outdated ! Dreamweaver is now CS4. MX was = to version 5, CS4 is = to version 12!

As for that extension - http://caheinfo.wsu.edu/Webtips/drea...p_cleanup.html

Of course, if you know how to write your own code, it doesn't matter much what version you use, or even what product you use.
