I'm doing a site for a local jewelry store. At first the client wanted a PayPal shopping cart system. Very easy. I did that. Well now that client has decided that they don't want the PayPal shopping cart system. She wants to be able to have the orders securely sent to her, and then she wants to process the order in her physical store. Where in the world do I start with this and it not cost me a fortune. Would appreciate ANY help.

osCommerce is a great shopping cart system that may be worth looking into.

Thank you for the info. I just read all the information on it and downloaded it. This is probably gonna push my tech abilities, but will make them stronger I am sure. If anyone else has any suggestions I would love to hear them!

Okay, that didn't work at all. It only works for those who have an Internet Merchant account, and you have to know how to send the info via secure server.

My client wants orders sent to her via email or somehow log into a secure system and retrieve the orders and then process them on her credit card machine she has at her store. Any ideas on this?

osCommerce will will take orders and the customers credit card info and allow you to proccess them offline, it's been a while since I set one up but I'll look into it for you if you'd like.

Based on what you are asking there is no way to achieve it without purchasing a merchant account this actually gives you the validation certificate for SSL (secure server, connection). If you want to be able to make real secure transactions this is the only way. E-mail shouldn’t be an option as it is not secure.

You misunderstand what they are saying, they have a merchant account for proccessing their offline transactions. They want to be able to take orders, store the CC info (all with SSL of course) and then enter the CC in manually offline rather then using an internet gateway. There's nothing wrong with that scenerio.

Well, I have tried and tried to figure this problem out and just haven;t been able to. However, Michael Bloch over at http://www.tamingthebeast.net made a REALLY good point. How can my client process the credit card without a signature?

I pay bills all the time using my credit card over the phone, I never have to sign anything.

Hi,

I don't know if this was mentioned, I just wanted to add this:

All you need to do ( as long as your cart allows ) set your checkout to allow offiline payments, and the customer would be able to punch in there cc info, then that will allow the merchant to print out the email with that info. and run it right through their store machine.

Simple
