Hi,

I need to create a website for a clothing company. They require a site where users can change the colour of the shirts/collars etc.

Does anyone know what programs can be used for this?

thanks,

Is this something you're looking for?

Flash w/ ActionScript would do the trick.

I don't think you can get a 'program' or a script to just readily do this although I'm not entirely sure. Maybe you should search hotscripts.com otherwise consult with a Flash designer/programmer.

Actually, you could do it with a plain old image roll-over, could use CSS or javascript, depends on the needs of the client. Clothing catalogs do this all the time, and most of them use some server-side scripting. One site I frequent uses .Net.

Do you mean so they can customize the color of the shirt?

If so check this out:

The roll over thing can only resolve if the shirts are available in two colors. For more then two colors you surely need flash action script.

Nope. The catalog sites that I frequent have color swatches showing the other available colors for an item. You roll over each color swatch to see the color change.

i dont kown what graphic tools you choose,Photoshop?
if you usually use Photoshop to edit your photograph,i can show you a tiny way to change the color of clothes, the setps are following:
1pen the photograph which you want to edit,of course it is a character
2:chosse the area of clothes with selective tools, anyone is ok.(press Shift means add, press Alt means decrease)
3:use Printbrush tool. choose color model in color paletee drop menu .
4:choose new color and notify the color in selective area..
if your tool is not PHotoshop.i am sorry..i dont know..

Try going to this blog article I wrote about a rollover javascript we made that is easy to use. I use it myself at Green Man T Shirts. I put in a download file of the javascript so you can try it out yourself. Hope this helps you.

I have seen this feature in lanebryant.com where we hover the mouse and the shirt colors change accordingly. Have a view in their source code. You may get it.

I agree with this one...some people get tired of waiting for a flash presentation to load.....

I suggest you go for javascript or anything else but if possible don't go for flash because, as mentioned above, it takes a while to load which can be irritating sometimes.
