Which domain name is better?

I have two domains, craigwermert.com and craigis.me. I'm thinking of rebranding my freelance business, changing the name to "I'm Craig.", because my last name is kind of awkward and hard to remember how to spell. Anyway, I'm just wondering if...
1) Should I use craigis.me for my portfolio site, or keep it at the current craigwermert.com?

2) Any critiques on the designs of either page?

The menu and scroller on http://craigwermert.com/ is a bit buggy. I tried to access the menu drop down but was obstructed by the random intrusion of your images. You need to refine the way it works.

As for branding. I would definitely go for craigis.me as it is easier to remember and you won't have to spell it out.

Which browser & OS are you using? It work just fine in every browser I tested except for, oddly enough, Opera 10. It even works in (gasp) IE6.

I viewed your site in IE8 runnimg on Wiindows Vista, no problem.

Now to answer your original question, if you are starting from scratch I would go for craigis.me as this is catchy a and easily remembered.

Having said that I really like what you have done at craigwermert.com . I think when you finished developing this it is a site well worth a visit, you already have some great images.

Keep up the good work, best of luck for the future.

hhm that's weird.

Yesterday, the images were flying in from absolute right hovering over the menu.

It's working fine now though - I am on XP & Vista both Firefox; Latest.

well.....looks great now and works nicely. I'm usually not a fan of patterned backgrounds but what you did with yours is perfect. Nice job.

I threw in some z-index, which apparently fixed the problem with firefox, but it is still all janky in Opera. I've been killing myself trying to figure it out. I'm just going to cross my fingers that no clients use Opera, I suppose. Thanks for the kind words!

I think it is more professional to use your last name dont worry if it sounds weird or not. Its often a very good idea to brand your own name. You should think of starting a blog as well.

So I vote full name domain.

I think that the craigis.me domain is pretty clever - it shows creativity, which is very important for a portfolio site.

If you are going for a non-keyword domain name, why not go quirky, rather than "craig" which is not that memorable really!

use your name and surname! craigwermert.com because:
- craigis could be misunderstood
- anyone can find you on google easly
- you renforce your identity

as I read above, the menu doesn't work I'm viewing the site on WINXP+FF3

I agree. I can understand what people are saying about your full name being more professional though.

So, if I understand everyone correctly, I should use my craigwermert.com. But I should also use craigis.me. What if I just redirected one to the other?

Hai,
As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

As an experienced webmaster I recommend BlueHost service which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.

Orfeo Nail - Thank you for the product placement, but I already own both domain names as well as hosting space. Neither of which are BlueHost. PS - Lunarpages is effin' awesome
