You must place the files for your website into the root of your server. If you place them anywhere else and a visitor types www.yourwebsite.com the web will not be able to find your index file and the user won't find your website.

Under site definition in Dreamweaver leave the 'folder I want my files stored' box blank.

When you upload for the first time select 'Site' in your local view then click the upload button - - when asked if you want dependent files reply 'yes' and your entire site, all the folders and all the dependent files will be uploaded in one chunk.

Thanks to JohnJ for sorting out my last problem, my site is now on line for everybody to see, however!!

My images and background are not attatched properly, I have uploaded them in a file with all my otherpages etc but are not available to view. Everything worked and looked fine on my p.c so I assume it's an attatchment problem.

Can anyone help?

Check the path to the image. It may be that the image source is pointing to where it was on your computer and not to the uploaded files.

It may be something like <img src=http://www.yoursite.com/files/imagename.jpg>.
