i have 824 to organize in a CD. is a kind of audio-dictionary. i'm working with a 3-frames layout in Dreamweaver.
the top frame contains the alphabetic order.
the left frame contains the names list and if you click on the linked name, in the right frame you can listen to the audio. this happen on mac.

i tested this on windows system and when i clicked on left name, is opened Windows Media Media. and is not right…

and which is the preference to show the vertical scroll bar for the left frame (because the list is longer than the page)

It will depend on what the USER has set for their preferences NOT what you select

otherwise: neither on mac nor on windows the vertical scroll bar appears , but i can see in other website…

For the frame scroll set the scrolling attribute to "yes"

so, i should hope people setted the preference to don't open WMP.

Well, you can't change that. Other users may have Winamp or RealPlayer as their default music player.

You have to ensure that your site doesn't NEED a particular setup to be fully functional
