I am revamping a site and would like to know if I should still be trying design according to IE 6 fixes or has the number of users diminished enough and should I only be concerned with IE 7 and IE 8, any input would be appreciated Thanks All

I still have a fair amount of IE 6 users popping up on the sites I build. IE 8 is gaining ground but IE 6 remains an unwanted hemorrhoid. I believe it is right on that edge.

That depends on your audience. If the website targets everyone (ie; video sharing website) then you ought to fix every issue.

check this out; http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

Do you care about that 12% ?

There is still way to many people using IE6, its a hard question to answer.

I would like to say dont worry about IE6 just make sure you test your site with Firefox and IE7/IE8. But that would mean ~10% of people using your site may have issues.

Still people use IE 6 but the moderation has taken effect. Every one wants to have more ease and functionality.

The biggest users of IE6 continue to be in the CORPORATE environments, as high as 25-30% still using that thing. My company just refuses to upgrade because of legacy applications, and that is typical in the corporate environment.

The stats for my sites (over 250 of them) still tends to get a much higher percentage of IE6 users than 7 and 8 is still minuscule.
