i am now discouraged to enter any more contests and i feel disappointed that the client put wayfarer in this position, but more-so that it took so long to resolve.

I'm sure that wayfarer is pretty pis hacked off as well.

I've been in a similar position where I've asked a GD (fortunately a friend) to design something, then the client just "disappears" when you try to get approval/payment!

That's why I now ask for a payment upfront on anything.

A friend calls it the "prostitute principle".
As in:

They will be happy to pay before they get the "goods", but it's not quite as urgent afterwards!

i understand that but imho wayfarer should have pinned them down to a deadline far earlier so that we weren't all waiting, with very little information about what was happening, and then the client would have had to decide sooner one way or the other.

even though we would have wasted time designing the thing in the first place (which is part of these sort of competitions anyway to a certain extent ) at least we wouldn't have to have wasted time/energy keep checking the thread and wondering what was happening

i hope wayfarer isn't screwed for the money to make the website too!
