I had a client call me today and after putting Netscape Accelerator on her computer, her site looks absolutely hideous when she views it. I had no idea what she was talking about. Her site looked fine to me on my computer and on the other computers in my shop. Even in different browsers it looked the same. So I went to her shop to see what she was talking about. She was right. The graphics I designed for the site and most of the pictures are TERRIBLE. Even some of the javascripts don't work on her site when she views it. Is there any information available about getting around the accelerators so they can't do that to the pages I design? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry but this post is not an answer to your concerns - rather it reports additional problems with Web Accelerators.

I actually installed a web accelerator on my computer a few months ago to see how it works.

The version I used stored all my visited web pages on my hard drive to 'simulate' increased speed by retreiving from the hard drive instead of from the web. The first (and last) problem came in about 10 minutes after I updated a web page and wanted to view the changes on the web... No can do....

Web accelerator refused to refresh the page - would ONLY read from my hard drive. I could find no way around the problem so I uninstalled the software.

I suspect that your client problem is with data compression but I have no suggestions for a fix....
