Hey I am trying to design a sports news website that will display the latest news on my high school's sports the thing is I want the site to change based on the season which should happen automatically based on specified calendar dates. Additionally, I want the main page to display the 5 newest articles for every category (track, basketball, wrestling, swimming, and etc.) Have a spot for rankings and you choose which sport you wanna see with a drop down box and the rankings will update and then have a mini calendar at the top displaying upcoming sport competetions.

The most important feature I want is to have users be able to submit articles from the site and then have them validated, if they are not administrators, or just posted, if they are admins.

How can this be done?

Later on I want to be able to create RSS feeds and alerts through IM and email/txt messaging.

i have a site "skeleton" here:

obviously I am going to put images here instead of boxes like a better example of what i am looking for:
www.wakeforestsports.com

thank you,
praful

Yeah but the thing is I'm on a budget since I'm a student and really have no money except to host the site (which is $5/month) so that's why i was looking for a free alternative so that's basically thats coding the site or an extremely generous person giving me a layout for free (which is probably not happening).

Hi there... I know you don't want to hear this, but your gonna have a hard time finding somebody to code such a large project for free... I would, but I'm way too busy with everything so I'll offer you some tips on getting this done... First of all, do you know any html? if you do, and have some time on your hands... learn php! that's the language your gonna want to do this in... www.codewalkers.com is a great php site with awsome tutorials, code, and a forum. Now if you don't want to put all that time into learning php, there are thousands of php scripts out there that people have made. go to www.hotscripts.com or try www.sourceforge.com. You're still gonna have to know a little html though to customize those to your liking. Anyways, that's all I can think of for now, and I would glady help you out, but I'm working on my own project... a huge project actually. It's a complete Content Management System. Plus I;m still in school and have a lot of homework to do these days. so good luck finding a solution!

As it seems that you are a newbie of web design og programming, my suggestion is that you modify a version of PHP Fusion, then later on you'll learn to do it yourself.
