Greetings all, I'm new here and came to this site to receive advice from knowledgeable and experienced people regarding what I'd like to achieve in a website to facilitate the music and guitar lessons I offer to private clients. I don't know much about web design, but I'm willing to learn the steps it takes to create the functionality of the site.
I'd like for the site to:
-host files for clients to download.
-manage personalized portfolios per client.
-require a user-name and password for clients to access their files and content (within their personal portfolio).
-offer quick access for clients to purchase plans through PayPal.
-post blogs, copywrite and other various content.
-advertise/promote a particular program I use and encourage my clients to use.
I'm not looking to do anything fancy with the site -- just yet. I don't want to initially use it for much marketing purposes other than for a public page displaying my bio, rates and plans for the inquiry of potential clients around my local region. So before I begin to embrace the internet community, I would only like to cater to my current clients needs first, so I don't need any flashy design or features just yet.
Here are my questions:
What are the best kinds of hosting servers for what I'm trying to do, and which of them would you recommend? Can you give me any bit of advice that could help me along?
Thanks!
