Alright. This is very strange. I'm making a design right now, and it is incorrectly displaying my code in design view. You may be wondering "How is that strange? Dreamweaver has always had it's mishaps when it comes to design view" Well here's the strange part: It displays perfectly fine when I push the "Live Preview" button, which is the one that doesn't open up in a browser but the same Dreamweaver window.

Anybody know what's up? I'm thinking I might have hit a setting or something by accident and it messed up how it gets displayed, but I have looked through and don't know now.

this is normal. i don't have an explanation why but it happens to me also and many others.

It was displaying fine last night (in Design View), but when I opened it back up today it's changed.

Thats weird. did you change any code? because i think when the codes get pretty complex dreamweaver design view display it kinda wrong. you can just preview in your browser anyways, or just use the 'live view' option.

Nope, when I closed it out last night and then opened up today the code was not changed.

I'm only just now creating the wireframe for a new theme, so I need to see the div outlines for the particular areas. (So I know they are in the right position)

well if dreamweaver is failing to show you the outline for the div's then i guess you're going to have to create a temporary border yourself, then once you have all the aligning done just remove them

Well I said that so you'd know I wouldn't find using a browser very suitable at this point in development.

Ive had this and like all other problems with Dreamweaver, if you ignore them they fix themselves.

change your version.

There are display types in DW.

You may need to change teh screentype ( in one of the toolbars )
You can change from
ScreenMedia,
PDA media,
Phone Media
etc

Maybe this has changed somehow.


Maybe your not showing CSS styles?
Check thats enabled also.
