I have created a simple html site (nothing fancy). http://www.capitalobgyn.com. Client wants to make dynamic changes to the content of the site. He gave me reference to this company http://magicedit.com. I looked in to it and just don't know how can this work. Can this be that easy????
Please advise!

It's just another "sitebuilder" tool.

Any CMS will allow "dynamic updates" it's what they are there for.

and Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress etc are all free

Thank you for advise, it's just Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress seemed very complicated to me. I'm not sure if I can pull it off. This looks simple enough (specially if the client will pay for it). Do you see problem in using this "sitebuilder" tool?

Yes, because you are then tied to the one hosting provider.

To have any kind of "dynamic update" you will need (like chris said ) stuff like jooma, wordpress etc.

However, If you go and learn a bit of basic php and some basic mysql and you have a server that can do both, then you can make it all yourself.

All really depends on how "easy" you want it done, or if your willing to learn.

Ie:

You put the text for your site in a mysql database,
Then on your webpage you have php that reads that database and "prints" or "echos" that text into the document and is displayed on the page like normal.

You simply then edit the database with whatever you want and it updates the page. ( you would have to make a frontend to do that )

But all in all, Joomla etc will do the job just as well.

Thank you guys.
I see your argument about the hosting and writing your own cms or using other free stuff.

But let's take me for example. I'm a web designer not a programer, for me to accomplish this task will require to hire somebody who can "program basic php and some basic mysql and find a server that can do both.. kind a guy," do for me and then give him a cut from my paycheck, when for the client all they need is a simple text replacement. I see a great deal of attraction in this http://magicedit.com tool. You create an account, client pays for hosting with magicedit and I forget about it.

And I'm talking about simple websites were I have the freedom of design and layout.

P.S. after trying this, I liked it. (makes it easier on me and brings me more and faster profits)

The reason I asked for advise is because when I stumble across this site, I found something that I've never seen before, and couldn't figure it out how are they doing this, when all I do is ftp my site and put simple html "<magicedit></magicedit>" tags around the text that needs to be updated.

I don't know.
