It's not like there is a cricket cms and a swimming cms and a soda cms. There are lots and lots of web ideas and unfortunately each of those don't have a corresponding cms tailored specifically for it.

Your best bet is to use the cms for site content management, basic CRUD (create, read, update, delete) operations. You may also want to choose a sports related template or theme available for your cms which will make customizing a little easier as you won't be starting from scratch.

Alright how about wordpress with the wpsn theme. But just know that it doesn't matter what cms you use, you can tailor anything to suit your needs.

Just google "sports related wordpress themes" or just "premium wordpress themes". There are thousands out there, its just a matter of searching until you find the one you like.

As per my experience you can use Joomla CMS. Joomla allows in-house management of all website content, depending of course on the capabilities of the people using it. Joomla is an Open source CMS.Joomla is used and accessed worldwide for personal homepages to complicated corporal web applications.Joomla is well supported by a community of developers and service providers. Most web hosting service providers support Joomla installations.

In a CMS, data can be defined as nearly anything: documents, movies, pictures, phone numbers, scientific data, and so forth. CMSs are frequently used for storing, controlling, revising, semantically enriching, and publishing documentation. Serving as a central repository, the CMS increases the version level of new updates to an already existing file.

Drupal and joomla are more complex than worpress. So my advise is to install WP. It is also SEO friendly and can allow to have all main features

A Content Management System (CMS) is a collection of processes in a collaborative environment to manage work flow. CMS software may provide each user an entire Web site, document set, and / or code base to work within a virtual copy is meant to allow. This enables you to see changes in many interdependent resources and / or executed in the reference before submitting.
