Sorry for the long absence. I've got a question regarding Dreamweaver CS4.

I don't often use it in "design mode" but it clearly is useful at times. One of my sites uses semi-transparent PNG files as background images for DIVS using CSS. When I switch from Code to Design mode Dreamweaver slows down to a crawl.

If I comment out the respective lines in the CSS file its speed is restored. Has anyone else has this issue and do you know how to resolve it?

The weird thing is that the background image is 1px by 1px and 2.73kb in size. It's tiny.

Probably just the DW rendering engine then.

Do browsers have a similar problem?

All browsers are fine which is the weird thing. I've tried Googling the issue but haven't yielded any useful results. I'll keep trying though.

Try making the image bigger, say 100x100

BTW

1px square and nearly 3k in byte size?????????

It should only be 150-200 bytes at most.
