Move hosts would be the first step, because you are NOT going to be running streaming video there.

yeah i would agree recently had a hosting agreement with those peeps and as soon as my site started using a lot of traffic they terminated my account due to fair usage policy ( it said unlimited bandwidth seems there is a limit ).Also site was very slow and file downloads from my site were capped very low.

thanks for the replies guys, but i kinda wasted $100 on their 2 years plan so i don't think i can get it back, can't i design the site there first and move to a better host to stream the uploads ?
also what is a good host for a large video streaming website?

depending how long you have had the account they have a money back guarantee if you cancel within a certain time ( you dont have to give a reason ).

Streaming video has an enormous bandwidth overhead. If your site attracts moderate traffic, pumping video to just 50 visitors at any given moment for 10hrs a day will see your hosting bill soar, or your visitors leaving due to poor performance.

I would be contacting hosts and asking if they have a maximum number of accounts per server. 200 would be a reasonable max. A video streaming site might have a chance on a high end shared server.

I have no idea about USA hosting, but if you were targeting Australians, I'd recommend AussieHQ (max 200 accounts per server for shared hosting).

You can upload videos in many forms, it is possible to embed WMF (Windows Media Format, its very easy to do, but only for Windows users to watch), or Quicktime (simple as well, but has its own use to cause problems) or the best way (I think) is to use a flash. I think you can google a free flash video players, but it is expensive to buy one (at flashden.net for example), the video flash FLV format, you can purchase a converter, or some freeware google or something, but there WHERE are online services you can convert any video format heywatch a few bucks (or something). com

I use Bravenet.com, never had a problem with them that wasn't my doing and when it was my doing the customer service was exceptional!

unless you are providing your own content use a player to pull stream from server that is providing it and avoid bandwidth on your server... that may seem kind of obvious, but I get the feeling that that is what you are really up to... if I am wrong then yeah get either your own server(usually about $90/mth for a static IP or get a dedicated server with a hosting company... did I mention bravenet.com? actually getting a dedicated server won't do a thing for bandwidth... my bad...
