try joomla tutorial on w3schools. they have very nice tutorial on almost every web related language. hope that will help you a lot.. do some project, then you will be an expert of joomla. :-)

Yes, i agree with headbang.

Becoming an expert in Joomla will help you in develop basically any kind of website. I personally use a lot for most of my designs.
