alrighty so i've been doing my course in web development for 3 weeks or so now and i'm loving it - but now i'm at a cross roads
i'm using aptana studio for my code work because its free/open source and has syntax highlighting, although until aptana 3 comes out there's no php or any other development side languages
so i'm thinking about investing in an adobe suite but i dont know which one my choices would be either the master collection or the web suite
i can get both on the cheap because of education discounts

or
http://www.educationsoftware.com.au/product.php?id=506

so yeah do ya'll think its worth buying/using a full suite of adobe products or is it better to try and stick with open source stuff

I suppose that depends on your budget. If you're just looking for something that handles code the Aptana does, but more robust, you might want to take a look at TopStyle 4 - it's less than $100 and a very good tool. It has syntax highlighting and handles several programming languages.

If you're not going to be producing video, and you still want Adobe, the Web Suite would be a bit more focused for your track.

I would recommend you to use open source. Because it is Practically free. With a minimum of available courses, businesses, organisations and individuals will not have to pay anything for the classes. The codes are also available to the public and can be re-designed to suit the your need.
