When my site http://www.clipperlight.com is displayed on the Firefox browser it is badly distorted and is an old version of the site. I write in HTML and have no problem with most browsers.
Because it is a also an old cach version of my site it contains some jarva script to protect my sourse code, which I have since removed. Can anyone help please.

It's NOT the fault of browser, nor is it a caching issue since I've never been to your site before. Your javascript is utterly annoying, it came up even when I used my browser's scrollbar!

Do you have some sort of arcane browser sniffing going on? Or perhaps you've made a change and it's a dns or host issue.

Dear Carolina Corvette Club

I have removed the bad Jarva script from my site because of the problem it was causing with Firefox, and have uploaded the amended page some time ago. The problem is that Firefox is still carrying the old page which has the offednding Jarva Script. How can I get Firefoix to update the page so that it works correctly.
Can you help
Kind Regards

Thank for all your help, but my basic problem is that Firefox still has my old site and has not renewed it, so it still contains the offending Jarve script that I have sinse removed. What can I do to get Firefox update my site.
Kind Regards

Dear Carolina Corvette Club
It is not a cache problem on my computer I have cleared my cashe and have tried it on another computer which has never visited my site, so can't have a casch memeory of it. The way my site is writen is irrelevent as I have removed the Jarva scritp which causes the copyright protected box appearing. The problem quite simply is that Firefox displays an old version of my site with the offending Jarva script still in it. Can anyone help me with a sensible solution as how I can get Firefox browser to update my site.
Kind Regards
Clipper

Firefox can only display what is sent to it from the web server, or what it draws from your browser cache. Unless there's some sort of browser sniffing going on that redirects to another version of your site, Firefox isn't going to pull some version of your site that doesn't exist.

And stop addressing me as "carolina corvettes" that is not my name.

Dear goodness!

I tried visiting your site to see the problem was and I get a copyright alert every time I do anything. I'm not even trying to right click!

From reading the thread and looking at the site, I've never been there before thus I have no cache of it... I noticed the code is still there. You need to remove it from your servers as LadynRed was saying, firefox is only displaying what is given to it by the servers.

Also, I find these overly protective copyright protection javascripts to be the dumbest thing in the world.

First of all looking at the design, I don't think anyone really wants to steal the code for it (there are plenty of open source e-commerce solutions out there that are more sophisticated, nicer looking and valid html code).

Second of all anyone can bypass the javascript protection by simply disabling javascript on their browser. Even better yet, most browsers including Firefox allow you to view the code without having to right click! Usually all one has to do is click on the View menu and select Page Source, so why even bother with it? All you end up doing is driving people away from your website, and eliminate any chance of selling anything on it!

Dear JYOZ22,
Thanks for your help and I have now sorted the problem out, although I deleted the offending Jarva script from IE, It was somehow retained when I accidentaly changed my default browser to Firefox. I have now deleted it and it seems to work OK.Thanks again everybody.

First: It's JAVAscript
Second: It's CACHE

Ok, so you've cleared your cache and all, but I have a better solution. What you need to do is unplug your computer, go drive to your computer store and buy a completely new machine. THEN try it.

Either that or all of your 'Jarva' script got some sort of virus on it. If you have linked scripts than who knows what they're doing.

Sorry, I didn't stay on your site long enough as soon as the pirate started talking. 'Hello, shipma--'*CLOSED*
