Does anyone knew or can advice the best CMS or design to use for an Ecommerce site?I am planning to build one...

I think best CMS to buil a ecommerce site is Joomla or Magento, Magento is very profestional for this, powerfull And Joomla+ VirtualMart is simple to use.

I use Prestashop, though it isn't a CMS it does have CMS built into it. It is an open source ecommerce solution, and a very advanced one at that. It should have pretty much everything you need to sell online; one note though the way it handles attributes/options for products can be tricky and a bit heavy for the database. As it creates a product for every possible combination (which is a good thing, but not if you don't need it).

I've also used Open Cart, which is a newer project (also open source), but have not used any recent version of it -- It has undergone major updates since I last used it.

Well then first thing first that do the homework first of search engine optimization for you website or project!

I can recommend Magento it is search engine friendly flexible and you can get some stunning templates.

We have used Cube Cart for years. It links up with authorize.net to give us automatic payments to the bank. I have just installed Virtue Mart for one of my joomla sites because it has great ratings. PM me if you want to know where to get Cubecart or Joomla w/ Virtue for free.

I dont have much idea but think Joomla will be the best for ecommerce site. prestashop is rather easy and user friendly... didn't use anything else as for yet

I have never done an ecommerce site and has received a request from the other day. I have really wanted to try their luck with it. What extension, software used for the basket. I am not good with PHP and need something that is very easy to learn and teach my clients for future shipments.

The web site should be designed to gently lead the client through the learning and sales process. Your sales text must be grammatically sound and spelled correctly. Poor spelling loses credibility points straight away
