I seem to have a problem in cs5 that when I appy padding to a layer it isnt showing in my design view, but when I look at the live view it shows it as it should be, this is causing me problems as it hard to design the page when I cant see the padded margins. Is there something I have selected that is causing this. When I click on the layer it shows the padding but not the true width.

For example, If I have set the layer width at 410 and 20px of padding at either side, nothing changes on screen, then when I click on the layer, it shows the shaded padding area but on screen it is still only 410 wide when it should be now 450 wide.

This is driving me nuts!!

Don't use DW's live view, it's always been flaky. Always test your pages in real web browsers!

It isnt the live view that is the issue, its the normal design view, when I add padding the layers dont change sign until I view it in live view or in browser. Its really strange, it only seems to be happening with one site that was initially desinged in cs4. If I start a new page and add padding it shows fine, its just on this one site im having a problem with.

DW's internal viewer is NOT reliable for accurate rendering of your page. You should always preview in browsers for a TRUE view.
