Css, i seen a tutorial that used css and sprites for the roll over images and it was really cool.

I suggest you to always use css in order to do image rollovers :
- clean , easy to do, less code

BUT you have to pay a little attention because there should be incompatibilities with some browsers, so you must make some extra test... but the results are great and professional.

Not really. Even IE6 will do a simple css rollover w/o issues.

CSS is the best solution. It will support all browsers. Some of the Browser block the scripts.
