I want opinions about what font you find more pleasing to the eye, between Verdana OR Arial. I'm using Verdana at the moment and I'm thinking of changing the site font to Arial to free up more space. I know they are similar, but which do you prefer the most?

hm. I go for Arial, It's more smoother and easier on the eyes.

Only on pages with a limited amount of text, for a page that has a lot of text it gives a "cramped" appearance.

Chris, the text is limited, minus a few article pages.

arial looks simple yet better for text...

Arial is actually an incredibly poor font. It was designed for Microsoft to be their helvetica, because they were too cheap to licence helvetica. It's basically a mix of Franklin Gothic and Helvetica, and is full of mistakes and technical inaccuracies.

Verdana, on the other hand, also designed for Microsoft, was specifically made to be easy to read on-screen at small sizes. It's a lovely screen font, very readable and nicely put together.

So definitely Verdana. Arial is basically an abomination as far as fonts are concerned.
