I'm building a website that requires a blog and a forum but I want users to be able to search both from one search form. I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of either: a CMS that has forum and blog plug-ins, that work together in this way; or two different systems that are easy enough for a non-programmer to integrate like this.

I know I could use Google Sitesearch but that isn't flexible enough (and non-brandable!).

I haven't slept in a while so if I'm incomprehensible let me know and I'll try and clarify.

Thank you, mushget. I've just been looking through the Joomla extensions and found Ninjaboard. Ninjaboard would be perfect, however, Joomla seems overkill (which is why I didn't consider it before).

So if anyone knows of a simpler solution let me know. For now, though, Joomla will suffice. Thanks again, mushget.

You could use wordpress and their sister site http://bbpress.org/

I am not sure if this is the best option for you but worth a look.

Thanks, Mug. I do like the bbPress forum but I'm not too keen on Wordpress, tbh. Besides, I'm actually starting to really warm to Joomla, even if it is a beast of a system.
