I read from some threads here that they are willing to share and download wordpress themes for free, why are they doing this? after working for it so hard, and they share this only for free?

Publicity.

It gets the designers name shown on the pages that use the theme, as (usually) part of the agreement for using the "free" theme is to leave the links intact.

Some also embed "sponsored" links into their "free themes"

They are "free" as in Free Beer" NOT "free" as in "Free Speech"!

OIC, but I think they can earn more money than having publicity, and if they sold the site, links can be also intact on it, displaying on designer credit. I bought themes from elegantthemes.com and still they have their credit links on it, they earn publicity while earning money too. Am I correct?

Anyway thank you sir, for moving my wrong post, I feel so sorry for it.

sir, one thing, is there any thank you button so I can press it whenever I read some useful reply to me?

Just want to add one more thing to this, . The person is giving away freebie web designs on their website, so just like Chemistry for the topics, "moles, particles, etc" :

Free Stuff = More Traffic = More Money

These free themes are of limited or for trial version which they want user to know this . After that they ask for buying this themes. Directly and indirectly selling their products.

Sure, but you may only sell one or two, while giving them away could increase the usage. You have to consider the reputation building aspect.
Have a read at:- http://www.webmaster-talk.com/articl...ree-stuff.html

All it would take is one "well known blogger" to use your free theme and suddenly you may find yourself in demand for "custom themes".

It is like GOOD forum posting, by giving away time and knowledge you enhance your reputation in that community and eventually others may actively seek you out and if you do offer your services for sale your reputation is already established.

Under every post is

Quote:
Helpful post?
Add to my Talkupation!
The Add is actually a link to increase or decrease the "Talkupation" (reputtion) of the poster.

I don't know why they would change it, but I like "publication design" personally.

thank you for all your response guys. It came to my mind to think twice before buying premium themes since there are lot of themes we can download for free with premium quality.

The main aim behind sharing themes or designs for free will be to attract visitors in the beginning period of the business. They will not provide you good templates anyway. They will quote you, probably once they get to know you well, with templates, telling that they are good and hence they are premium .This is a very old marketing technique...
