I've been told by many that my site is to bright, i've changed it to a darker theme, but i think it looks to messy when it's dark.

suggestions on how to clean up my site and perhaps some suggestions on themes?

EDIT: Link to site www.cultofaraluen.com

The background is distracting. Try blending it into the brown you also have there.

Give some padding to the text around your post image too.

Also if you're going to use a white theme like that and a dark background, throw a border around the container so it doesn't wash out.

Interesting posts though!

Actually, you could keep your leaves background, but I would fade it quite a bit or make it semi-transparent.

EEgads.. that background is WORSE! It's too distracting, people will only see the background and not your content!

Like everyone else said, the background is way to distracting. When I opened the link, rather then the main content, my eyes immediately went to the background.

I'd say lower the saturation so its greyscale, then put a light red over it and lower the opacity.

Change your background and make some attractive instead of plain tab on right panel put some advertisement or social networking link.

I would keep the background constant. Also I would change the padding around the images so it works for bigger images. There is a lot of white space to the right as you scroll down. I feel this is being wasted.

To decrease your site brightness just change background color and set light background color and dark font so your site will look like perfect. You can also use web templates which makes your site best.

Like a lot of people have said the background is a little distracting, it almost puts you in a trance like being hypnotized; anyway I would suggest fading the background from top to bottom or something like that and have it fade into a solid color, that might help calm it down a bit

Your blog looks good but have to change some minor things, although it’s small but can create big issue. A blog is a great way to connect with people who share your interests, or to publicize your site or product. The home page header category is not proper. Page length is too large you have to manage that. Article are not separate with lines. All articles looks like a big one. Have to add 1 logo in header.

Here are some guidelines to create perfect blog.

Write well and often.
Follow the Webmaster Guidelines
Categorize your posts
Make sure users (and crawlers) can easily find your blog
If necessary, limit comment spam
Create descriptive titles for each of your posts
Connect with your online community
Publish a feed of your content

Just try to fix this issues, and have fun with your blog.

Hi,

Try using a plugin like

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/...-one-seo-pack/

This might help you some. Also what are the ‘Gd./Ft. Art.= Ch. V’ Category I would change the category name IMO.

Best of luck with your site.

Why not try a simple background instead?
