Also easy to use, I usually use wordpress for clients, but I want to find another good one which is much lighter, and simpler for the customer to use.

Basically a CMS that the customer can only add pages, change content and does not have too many menus?

I know how to make my own CMS, its just I don't really know if it will be secure enough. I mean wordpress is easy and thats what I use.
But some clients have absolutely no idea lol So I wanted like a really simple one where anyone no matter how challenging they find computers to be able to use it.
Pretty much log in, add modify or delete content, log out.

Hi,

Popular content management system (CMS) solutions like WordPress , Drupal and ExpressionEngine can sometimes be overkill for businesses that just want the ability to build out a few pages and have an easy way to modify and update those pages.
Fortunately, there is a solution. More and more developers are catering to the “lightweight CMS” market. These alternatives might not have as many options and features as a traditional CMS, but they are built with an emphasis on making webpages easy to create and update.

I think Wordpress and Joomla including best CMS layout in all open source layouts.. more easy CMS remaining these may be developed by your own team, which can made all features easy in handling by users.....

Hi,

I have both WP and Joomla sites he wanted lite and easy.

Joomla is not lite nor easy.

For what I have seen I would stick with WP.

I need to see good improvements and I am very impressed by people who develop this form. I wish I could communicate with them or someone who knows well.Very module is very simple to use, very simple, enough functionality for many users. If you need a narrow view of CMS, in other words large on the basis of content supplied by a person or group would be ideal for you.

There are two cms projects that I would take a look at, one being Wolf CMS, and the other being SkyBlueCanvas. Both promise to be simple and lightweight.

WordPress is NOT a CMS, it's a blogging platform.

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=lightweight+CMS (is it so hard to use Google?)

Any tool that allows the management of content IS a content management sytem. Managing the content of a "blog" is simply the use it is put to.

vBulletin could be used as a "blog" platform, and a "blogging" tool such as Wordpress could be (and does get) used as a discussion platform.

Don't get too hung up on the labels that get attached to various software tools, they are often more versatile than the "label" implies.

+1. even though people are crazy about WP it might scare a newbie. Speaking frankly I was totally frightened to "install" something

Hello guys.....!
I am building a site which will require some very limited content management for a client. There are only a few areas of the site which will require the client to be able to update the content themselves.I recently tried Word-press. It's remarkably easy to just remove the default theme.I recommend you to use a proved ready CMS instead of reinventing the wheel.

If you want the ability for clients to edit things, I suggest MediaWiki (but that will create a Wikipedia-like site.)
