I'm preparing to build a network of community based marketplace website for users to sell their digital products like wordpress themes and such.

What's needed is something (a CMS preferably because I'm not an expert coder) that will allow users to:

1. Register and setup a profile and be able to brand it using an avatar thumbnail and a profile header image as well as be able to enter some simple html code into their profile for further branding with buttons, etc.

2. Be able to make deposits and withdrawals from credits in their account. e.g. A buyer makes a deposit via paypal and the amount is displayed in their account. e.g. An author sells an item and the amount the buyer paid for it goes into the authors account available for withdraw.

3. Submit files using a form and the files get sent to the backend (admin area) for our reviewers.

4. Multi-site features so that the network (all the sites) can be integrated with a single login, a single forum and a single user profile.

There are a lot of other features too but the ones I listed are the most important and hardest to find in a CMS. It also seems very hard to code from scratch for someone like me.

I'm familiar with a lot of CMS systems but I don't want to look generic in nature and using a pre-built CMS like Joomla might make us look in-competent or we might not be taken seriously.

So the question is what CMS is the best to use for this if any at all? maybe a php framework like Code-igniter would work better?

On a side note: I am willing to share a % of the companies profits for a good developer that can help with this.

Joomla is well supported by a community of developers and service providers. Most web hosting service providers support Joomla installations. In essence, Joomla is fast growing with a great support structure.

Yes, Joomla is a good one and also I like Drupal (it’s more complicated) but worth it.
Or you can try paid CMS

I might be wrong but I think these features will require a lot of custom coding. I haven't heard anything about a plugin which can handle the second requirement.
Concerning the CMS - it's not the system that matters but the result. Actually I barely believe Joomla will work (I am not sure it has all of the add-ons needed)

Evaluating content management systems can be an overwhelming task, not because it’s rocket science, but simply because there are tons of them to choose from.

No one says Joomla is bad, the question is in plugins needed. If you happen to know how to implement the second option, please, share your suggestions/script
