I currently use statcounter and it works great, however it only tracks the last 100 visitors that have came to the site (browser, referral, serp, etc.) I want a free package that will keep track of ALL my previous user data and entry/exit pages. Is there something out there?

Nope not really. I usually just use AWStats that comes with CPanel.

I have used many different hit counters on my site and find that all or them, for lack of a better word, suck. The best one to use would be the one provided by your hosing company. I you have no other options you can try this one. It's a good one for php

Great....thanks for all the ideas. I also found a good one here for free. www.pstats.com (click the DEMO link to see how it works). Seems to be pretty nice.

Yea, but extremetracking only remembers your last 20 keywords....I wanted a program that remembers how many times a user found a certain page on the site from a SERP. pstats does exactly that.

I prefer to download the logs and run a log analysis on the desktop - I'm using M5 Anlayzer from Mach5

I like 1. the comprehensiveness of the reports and 2. having a local back up the logs

The only online stats module that really impressed me is Urchin - that is one slick package!

My ISP only keeps logs from the past 7 days. Any ideas on how to have all the data stored into 1 log file (preferably at least a year's worth of data)?

statcounter is terrible man....they only keep the stats from the last 100 visitors (which is like every 40 minutes or so). If you want to see how your keywords are stacking up long term with the SERP's you should look elsewhere. PStats is pretty good...so is Webalizer.

Well ... I use it on my personal website as well as some other smaller sites that don't receive more than 100 visits a day and as you stated in your very first post to this thread "I currently use statcounter and it works great".

You can also upgrade your account with Statcounter (which I have done with some of my larger sites) thier stats are great ... fast and invisible to the public!

Yea, it's pretty good for # of hits per day to a site....it's not good for detailed long-term log files

Well the log / stat file can be found on Control panel, you can use Raw log files for that... I use Awstat supplied with hosting firm, Its nice tool..

These days I am using Clicktracks and Nettracker 7.5 professional, both are very nice tool...

Hiya, I use www.precisioncounter.com, REALLY easy and FREE. They want you to have a link to one of their sponsers, but its only text and tiny font, (6pt) which considerig what you get in return, I think its a good deal. I use it for my clients too, its easy to get around and the info also gives a forecast of visitors based upon the previous day/week etc...

Cheers, scotia
