Hi

i want to block all folders in my webspace from being able to be browsed e.g. contents listed, obviously the content in the folders still needs to be accessible for the webpages

is their a way to set up something that automaticaly does this?

Are you using Cpanel?

I utilize Cpanel so I know you can do it there. But if not you could just add an index.html to all your folders. If you want the instruction in Cpanel let me know

i use dreamweaver, if im thinking about this right the index.html file would be displayed instead of the folder contents? would this happen automatically or would i have to set it up?

thanks for the solution i've added default.asp files with "page not found" text on them to all folders in my webspace that shouldnt be accesible to the public and it works just as i wanted, thanks!!
