Does Linux offer enougth tools/software for webdesign such as image editors etc. Because I am thinking about changing from Windows XP to Linux. Any information would be a great help!

Well, the GIMP is a popular image editor and is said to be just as powerful as PhotoShop but I don't have the patience to mess with it.

Linux is blessed with more editors than you could try in an average life time - and the vast majority are free.
My personal favourites are Quanta, Kate and Emacs but you can't beat Komodo for some serious Tcling.
If you are interested in the Apache, MySQL and PHP/Perl/Python combination then Linux can't be beat.
If VBScript / .Net is your thing then stay with Windows although .Net is ported as Mono:

GIMP has always been powerful but is now getting to the ease of use to match - you could try it on Windows first to see if you like it:
