Does Linux offer enougth tools/software for webdesign such as image editors etc. Because I am thinking about changing from Windows XP to Linux. Any information would be a great help!
Thanks, I probley will change to linux see what its like may take abit of time to get used to the programs. If I find I dont like it I can just put windows back on or use a dual boot (have both) something to do anyway!
Linux is blessed with more editors than you could try in an average life time - and the vast majority are free.
My personal favourites are Quanta, Kate and Emacs but you can't beat Komodo for some serious Tcling.
If you are interested in the Apache, MySQL and PHP/Perl/Python combination then Linux can't be beat.
If VBScript / .Net is your thing then stay with Windows although .Net is ported as Mono:
