Lets say your friend who knows how to use MS Office, but not much else wants to build a 4 page webpage for his business that shows some photos, a map, an about me page, and links to his facebook and twitter account.

What service would you recommend they use?

Hello Chris,

For building your own website, I would recommend W3Schools Online Web Tutorials or you can always come here for help and questions you might have.

First reccommendation would NOT to any part of Office to build a website!!

But then again if it was Excel or Access (both being part of MS Office) it wouldn't be much help.

Sounds like he's not a candidate for Dreamweaver, but Avanquest WebEasy and Serif WebPlus are fine WYSIWYG web design software items that someone with the ability to use MS Word, Powerpoint or Publisher should have little difficulty learning, and sell for between $19 and $49 depending on the current promotions. In general the online web design products are sadly lacking.

Why not make use of dream weaver, I think it will be of good help to you. Even though you just want a five page site it can be helpful.

For the cost of purchasing Dreamweaver, and the learning curve associated with it, a person may as well just hire a professional web designer to build a simple 4 page site.

You might want to learn up on some html and familiar your self with some some simple codes. Then use wordpress. It is probably the best CMS for a business.
