How can I automate my invoices after orders are placed by either having a link to the invoice from my website made available to my customers, having the invoice automatically emailed to them, or both? Right now, I manually create invoices per order. It would be much easier if invoices were somehow automated similar when one purchases a product from Amazon or other sites. Thanks.

You have a template of the invoice with placeholders where the values would go, then replace the placeholders with the correct values serverside and email the document to the purchaser.

Two templates would be needed, one for HTML mail recipients and one for plain text.

Thank you for your response. Could you please elaborate on this a little more? I'm not sure that I understand. Currently, I email an invoice in PDF originally prepared with Word. Thanks.

HTML Code:
<h1>Invoice</h1>
<h2>To: [name]</h2>
Thank you for your purchase of:<br>
[item]
And so on [name] and [item] are the place holders which you replace with the actual values.

Thanks for your response. Would your technique automatically generate an invoice once the customer places an order or would I still need to manually generate one? Thanks.

That all depends on how your purchasing system is set up.

If you have it set to generate invoices it will, and if it isn't ...

I am not sure what you mean by a purchasing system. Unfortunately, I am not a website designer and my knowledge of web design is very limited. I simply own a website and I am trying to do as much editing on my own to save money. If you elaborate more for me in layman's terms what you mean by purchasing systems, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
