Posting this for posterity.

Had a problem with a table in IE7 that was busting
out of its container at the bottom of the page.
Basically, rendering over/under the footer.

Solution for me was to use CSS max-height on the table
e.g. max-height:1500px;

Solved.

Um.. but IE7 doesn't support min/max width or height.
Why are you using tables at all? If it's for layout and it's not just data.. it's a bad idea.

LIR

As a rule, yes I agree about not using tables but this is tabulated data and in any case its output generated by the CMS so dont have a lot of choice.

Just fyi , from what I can see , max height is not supported by ie6 but IS supported by ie7.

Any chance I can see an example of what you're talking about. I'm more of a visual helper.

Lets be clear - w3schools is NOT affiliated with the W3C and I would not rely on it for accurate data. Point of fact, IE7 does support max-height, BUT, IE8's support for it is buggy! Nothing like going backwards but what else is new with that browser??
