I am looking to make a website for one of my clients. He is in the photography industry. So they usualy require fancy gallerys, thats slick lol!!!

There are several, depending of course on what the hosting will support.

i saw its fully in flash, but thought he may have installed it too. Guess not

I have not purchased host. I want to design site and get good photo gallery software and on that basis i should look for host.

Flash is old. For photography galleries, I highly recommend you go with jQuery. It is easier to manipulate and the effects are far better than what Flash can do.

Load times are faster too.

How is it "easier" to manipulate?

Writing a jquery animation is an abstract you have to be able to imagine or visualise what the effect will be. With flash you manipulate the objects on the stage against a timeline, so you can actually see what is happening.

A flash animation could be playing while the page is rendering in the background, jquery may have to wait until all the page elements are rendered before it can start.

Plus you should consider the other things Flash can provide - any of the various text additions, voiceovers, music, transitions etc.

And given the many updates to "Flash" in recent years I'm not sure "old" is accurate.

While it is true that Flash is disliked or reviled by so many, that is due in no small part to the grossly inappropriate (mis)use by designers/developers who thought it was "kewl" to have flash "splash" pages, Flash headers that were looped and made some ridiculous noises or played "music" (using the term loosely) endlessly, or flash "buttons" that "clicked", "popped" or "squeaked" whenever the mouse cursor deigned to venture anywhere near them and sully their very existence.

Flash movies have their place in the "multimedia web"\"rich media web" (or whatever name it is being called currently) it's just that they are rarely used for such purposes.

Well-written, efficient Flash movies can be excellent. And there's always something worse - Silverlight.

This concludes exactly why I could care less if it died.

Paul- Quite honestly, the only Microsoft product I own (ironic since their HQ is right down the street from me) is their "Blue Light" mouse.
