I currently have a SiteMap page on my site, http://www.strongfamilies.us/sitemap.php. However, I feel that it was poorly done. I basically used a free SiteMap generator to create this page. This page doesn't even appear correctly when viewed in IE. Does anyone have any recommendations as to how I could create a more effective SiteMap? Is there a specific SiteMap generator that is recommended? Thank you in advance for your responses.

You could try organizing the links into related groups to help people find what they want. Instead of worrying about a generator, why not design the page your yourself. Look though all those links and the content behind the links and come up with a way to organize them for the benefit of visitors to the site.

Here is a list of Sitemap Generators Mark. You might have to purchase a generator or perhaps find a better freeware generator in the list. Someone else might have other suggestions to help you.

Thank you for your responses. I could probably create my own sitemap in categories. But, I understand that I should create an XML file based on the sitemap to upload in my FTP folder. Such a file was created and uploaded with the free generator but I don't know how to create one on my own. Is this something I should worry about? If so, how do I go about creating such a file? Thanks.

If I created the page myself in categories, could I simply use a free generator to create an XML file to upload to my FTP folder? Would this work? Thanks.

Run Xenu's Link Sleuth on your site then use the HTML URL report to build the site map.

And for goodness sake learn how to construct a decent title

I found some helpful sites, the first one especially. The second link is a free generator which you might have already. From my understanding you have to create a XML file to be placed in your root directory which would be in FTP folder, like your HTML / CSS files.

I read over both links again, the first link is most helpful, has what the coding will look like.

It looks good but the site map is wrapping around the navigation bar as though it fell off the content area. It should be a quick HTML/CSS fix.
