Hi Mai,

Isn't .asf the extension for a datafile? If so, then I think you should probably open the file up with Notepad or some type of basic text editor.

May I ask what you need it for?

As far as I know Windows Media Player should play ASF (Audio Streaming Format?) files (seems to work on version 9).

Seems a strange file format for a game though...... Perhaps conker is right about it just being a datafile......

Asf is video files normally. Sorta dropped out of use after divx came into power. I think it was a microsoft supported format.

Might not help either of you, but a very useful site I was recommended to once is:
http://www.wotsit.org/

It has information on practically every file format you need.

Information on ASF:

Apparently it is the format used by Electronic Arts in their older games. No details of a codec that I could see, but a huge amount of info on how the data is stored, may be a link in the file somewhere that is of help:
http://www.wotsit.org/download.asp?f=ea-asf

I was doing a search for something totally unrelated today and came across the Game Audio Player:
http://bim.km.ru/gap/view.asp?id={039D5BBB-8B77-4930-8859-1C48806E663C}

It seems to be exactly what you are looking for. I hope it works for your game!
