Hope I got the right forum here.
Basically, I have to set up a web site that will recieve a live video clip that is maybe some ten minutes long every day at a specific time.
My client will have a webcam hooked up to a computer which I believe will be used for that purpose only. They are a pretty big corporation and they have T1 connections on each end of the webcast. This is going to be a one way deal. They just want a guy in the Seattle office, (example), to be able to see a certain event that is happening at the Orlando office.
I have never done anything like this, and I have next to no knowledge about pulling it off. They don't want to use a Instant Message program, and I don't think that they want to use third party software either. Is there a way to do this wihtout going out and buying a program that does this? If so, what information do I need from the host computer? Do I need an IP address, a file name, or something else? I'm really clueless.
P.S. I'm doing this as a favor to a friend who works for the company and just got promoted to Network Administrator. This was the first project given to him by his General Manager, so I want to make him look good. I doubt that I will make any money on this whole deal, but it has prompted me to do research and hopefully I'll learn something new and useful from all this.
