Hello I'm a student and trying to come up with a nice site.
I'm pretty ok using dwmx for making "table" layouts but I decided to make a neat layout using photoshop 7. Well I have the layout (rollover menu's, graphics, etc) but whenever I insert the imageready project into dwmx I can only add the table to the very bottom where I don't want it to be. I could use css layers but then on certain resolutions it doesn't display right even using the netscape resize fix. So do I have to make many different "layouts" in imageready with the body of text I want? Because I want to use some behaviors that mx has.
I also tried to make the layout a bg img but then it was really wierd. Thanks for your help

I use fireworks mx to make layouts so Im not exactly sure how things work in Photoshop. However, if Fireworks, there is a tool that allows you to "slice" your layout. I think this tool exists in photoshop also. Basically, when you slice an image up and export the images and html code, your table is automatically set up. I can go into more detail about this, but before I do that, have you tried slicing the images yet?

ya imageready has slicing tool.
I done slicing for my rollovers and such. I inserted text for my menu. Made a rollover mouseover and changed the style. I have around 18 slices. So I have to try "export" the slice to an image? Then insert that into a table I made with mx? I can try that. It's just I have rollover slices. Then I made a slice where the logo is, body text, and left over space. I haven't uploaded it tho.
It looks like this in a way
http://www.pegaweb.com/tutorials/fiv...e-tutorial.htm
For the "rollover" menu's I sliced and changed the style. It's just I can't get text to show up in the right.
Can you explain slicing? Because I have so many and how would I export them all to an imager (would my rollovers still work)
After that I can pretty much get it, just insert image into a borderless table and add text?
Thanks

Slicing divides up one big image so that when you open it in a webpage, it opens faster and works better. The image size and resolution is better when you slice it. Also, when you export it as html, your tables are already set up and you dont have to manually tell each slice where to go.
I found this tutorial that might help. I know you are on the right track and close to getting it. From what I read on this tutorial, if you have your image sliced go to File>Save as Html. Then go to dreamweaver and open the html file. Your tables should be there. You may have actually gotten this far already.
Next, check out this link http://www.layoutland.net/tutorials/layout/layout2.htm It will show you how to put the text in the body of the layout.
Im not sure if this helps. If I need to clarify something or add something let me know!

Well i got really far. But it wants me to insert an "iframe" to where the text goes. (how do I find the size) That's fine with me so should I just delete the "body slice" and use an htm file for the text, scripts, etc? And use my bg in the "iframe" html to match the page?
Here's the page I'm working on since my friend letting me upload on her little host.

As you can see I can't get the text right. I have removed my "rollovers" for now since I only uploaded that 1 page.
I'm going try that "iframe" and use a body.htm and see if it works.

Thank you for posting that link. It helps alot to be able to see what you are doing. Okay, First look at the attachment I put on this post. This is how I would slice this part of the image. Once you do that, open it in dreamweaver. You can delete the "second slice" and you will be left with basically a blank spot in that table cell that will act as a place holder. I looked up the color code for your body image and it is #F8DBB1. So in that table cell, you can put code similar to this <TD align="center" valign="top" bgcolor="#F8DBB1">enter text here</TD>. If you would like me to show you how I would slice your entire image up, you can email me the whole image, or even post the image online without the text. Since I dont have photoshop, I cant slice the image for you, but I can show you how to do it. Besides, it is better if you practice it yourself! My email is skendall@cableone.net
