I have this template set up in dreamweaver, but I can't figure out how to make a cell stretch down when filled with text, without destroying the format of the rest of the cells. I want to have this cell be where all the content goes. I've figured out how to make it editable, but if I stretch the cell while adding text, the other cells are broken apart and divided. There's nothing underneath this cell either. I've looked all over for turorials about this, but I havent found any. Does anybody have anybody know what I'm talking about? If you do, please help.

looks like you havent found the merge function yet. just choose multiple cells right click -> table -> merge cells.
