Probably a bit late in replying to this but... I can recommend PHPProBid, just started running it and found no problems

Do stay away from AJ Auction though, just got stung by them for $350 - had to put in 80 support tickects in 10 days and they caused more problems trying to fix the bugs than they managed to fix! When I complained they deleted all my tickets and stopped working on the problems.

this script looks amazing! 380$ for this? its worth the price. look svery proffesional - and if ur an optimizer, prepare to make some nice amounts of $ b/c i see great potential in that auction script. Although, please remmember you are competing agaist one who markets itself on TV and around the net - ebay. i will start saving up - will be the next big thing.

After being a customer of theirs for more than two years and never needing to contact them in any way i placed a request for an update to ver 6.0. I paid them to upload for me and this they tried to do, they said they could not complete the task due to some reason that was beyond my comprehension. They said they would refund my money (they never did!) and return to previous version. After doing this several bugs became apparent the worst of which was that i could no longer relist items (i had over 300 auctions listed all of which eventually ended their allotted time and then ceased to be) i had several customers all experiencing the same problem and as they all had stores at my site this effectively rendered my site useless! I contacted them to ask them to correct the problems. they failed to complete the task! contacted them again, again failed. contacted again and again and again no joy then they refused to answer my emails, then they blocked me from using the support groups forum deleted my support tickets and refused to answer my phone calls. The guys wife (who answered the phone the first time) was without doubt the rudest nastiest female i have ever come across!! Avoid this company! Avoid avoid avoid!! they are the pits, the worst, period! Use software which gives you a support phone number and a contactable address as these people dont - only contactable by email which they can easily refuse to answer (it took a lot of detective work by me to get their phone number) Use a company with a professional businesslike set up and good support. PHP Probid are the most horrible people i have had the misfortune to deal with, please dont let this happen to you. i am happy to answer emails regarding this totally rubbish company!

You couldn't backup the database and do a clean reinstall of the working version??? eeek...
I have my own software I don't want to do that anymore, I'm looking for a replacement. This and bidware.com look identical because I think 90%+ must of come from the same first freeware source and bidware is even less if it's mostly solid I could take it from there, just can't have any encrypted junk.

I have to say i was shocked to see any such post about probid software and staff. I have been running a probid auction site for years now and have had no trouble with the owner David or staff members. His support is excellent and helpful and professional.

It sounds like carousel has a gripe and there is probably more to the story than carousel is saying.

I highly recomend PHPPROBID software as it is rock stable and fast and secure.

I need an Auction software myself and have been looking for weeks.

PHPProBid looks awesome but there are reports this software started from open source and the code is not reliable for huge sites.

Does anyone have any other alternatives? If these breaches as reported have been fixed I am buggered why these are not added on the phpprobid site. Nothing is perfect and many of us understand this but an open policy on security updates and so on I think is the best way to go.

I may just need to stick with vbulletin and a mod.

You better try the auction script from www.scriptrip.com.
I'hv checked with the features myself and amazingly it has almost the same technicalities as PHP Pro Bid but at a lower rate

I lost my money, phpprobid is no longer in the internet.
They are cheaters. I paied money, they not replied and money is gone.

I have been with phpbrobid for 18 months now. Since starting with them communication via email has been nothing other than awful. We thought it was because he was too busy.

My latest gripe is i changed the host to the domain name and asked for them to relist the website on a similar name. Patrick told me it was done and would take 48 max to be live. It is still not live and has now been 2 weeks.

They have since blocked my emails and they get returned as failed to be delivered. I have now sent an email from another address they don't have stating if they don't get mt site live i will take further action as this is damaging to my business name and income.

These types of business require excellent customer service. Well they get less than 10% from me, as they are just awful.

What's the telephone number for probid please, Nick? Our probid site, hosted by them, has been down for a week without response from them after numerous emails from us so we'd like to get in contact with them to find out what's going on.
