I built my own web site through tripod which was very easy to do. I purchased templates to build a better web site but I am having great difficulty! because I am a student I have tried to do everything as cheap as possible . I downloaded all the nessesary programs as stated e.g. dreamweaver/ frontpage/photoshop/ flash / all on trial for 30 days. I build the templates in photshop because I was having a problem with the templates splitting in dreamweaver and not lining up, but now the files won't go into flash lol to be quite honest I don't think I know what I am doing . I just think I have wasted money on those templates. The template I purchased was just the web site I was looking for to inhance my career as a singer! can anyone help me
Thank you Leah-Marie

What format are the templates in? Are they HTML or PSD? (The file extension if you are unsure ie template.htm)

If the template is htm/html then you need to open it up in dreamweaver or frontpage whichever you prefer, edit the content and then upload it to the site using a ftp client (If you don't have one go to download.com and find one)

If it is a PSD file, things start to get more tricky. You will need to use the slice tool to cut up the template i.e. logo, buttons and then "save for web" you can then open the htm page in dreamweaver and edit as outlined above.

It might be an idea not to use tripod for your hosting, there are many better free hosts out there - use www.dot.tk to get a free domain name.

If you need any more help or Ive confused you post below! or you can PM me and I'll take a look for you. If you decide you would like a professional to undertake your site I could probably help there and get you some cheap quotes

Good luck!

If its a PSD file and it just wants slicing then you can look at this tutorial here: http://www.eyesondesign.net/pshop/slicing/images.htm

If you don't want to do it yourself then I could slice it for you it wont take long - PM me if you want.

Cheers
