Hey guys im still very new and im finding designing very difficult i know exactly how i want a site to look in terms of layout ect but i just cant seem to get what i want.

I want my site layout to be similar to that of gamebattles.com but i dont have a clue maybe i aim too high for my limited experience in web design i dunno so ive come here looking for advise and maybe some help if theres anyone willing to help a new designer out.

THat site does seem quite up their. As for the design and all. Maybe you should start with somehting more less difficult, then work your way up.

Definately. Maybe start with a personal site, something basic. Then offer to make sites for people you know. You'll soon start developing your skills.

I guess so im thinking of developing a small site based around the playstation 3 i think i aim too high : / anyway i guess i can look at that and have it as a goal to adhere to later in life when i can actualy design with confidence and experience oh well best get started on a personal site as suggested guys thanks.

yeah just keep doing it it. I bet in 3months time you wont believe what you've learnt. I suggest you pick up some books and stuff. Follow through tutorials and keep building sites. Even if they never go live...

Maybe you can ask a an expert to help you with that.. At least the basics of proper layouting. You can also search the internet for some more tips..

well i picked up some books today one on dreamweaver and one on dhtml and css so ill get stuck in

yeah, you're aiming pretty high. I could probably make something similar to that, but it would be a challenge even for me, and I've had years of experience. plus, i'm pretty sure that wasn't a one-man job. they probably have a team of people working on that. or, it's just one guy who bought a template, which, again, was designed by a team of professionals. thank you for posting that link, though, that looks like a pretty sweet site, I'm definitelly gonna try to do something along those lines one of these days, just to help keep my edge. I think I'm getting a bit rusty, as I haven't designed any web sites in a while.

actualy it was done by chip the owner mainly he scripted all the ladders and stuff from scratch and his friend vree does all the graphics for the site and i just work there.
