Don't make 3 versions for 3 browers. It's clunky, unprofessional, and will be avoided by many viewers. Make one site that is viewable in all browsers. 'cept Netscape, which nobody uses. (nobody should start, either)

Yup a correctly coded site will work in all browsers automatically.

It looks alright though.
Nothing mega outstanding.

hi there,
great job!
if you want to have clients you have to create your own web site
your site should be presentable, you can state in your site all of your talents that you can do as per clients are looking at it, you can put all your projects done

Slightly better than the last effort, still a number of coding issues to address: http://www.htmlhelp.com/cgi-bin/vali...yes&spider=yes you may also want to add keywords to your header...

I agree about the cross browser thing - may put clients off, and if your code worked there would be no need for that.

How much work have you had coming in from your design company since you established yourself on the internet?

I recommend against telling people that you use Frontpage. There's no need to list the software.

hey, I started designing sites for people as well, I started designing free websites for friends and family and stuff like that i did, just to get my portfolio up a little bit, i then moved on to people i know via school. i started designing music band web pages and stuff like that at first. I offered my sites cheap at first i did like 5 pages for £15 and stuff like that and on a number of ocassions i'd say £15 but they'd be so impressed they'd give me an extra £5 or even £10. I then started a small business you could say with a group of friends who knew a bit about web design. It was a great start, we even chipped in for 13 domains and web space and stuff like that. Money was tight at first but now we have bought dreamweaver 2004, Flash 2004 and a number of photo editing programs. Things are slowing down a bit now, everyone has site, ha ha. Im currently working on a number of projects for my community and stuff like that, a good way to get yourself known. Add some google ad sense and you'll be rolling init. well a bit of extra pocket money i supose. Now im hitting GCSE level and that, specially with coursework my time is starting to run out but i do find time to do a few good web pages in the evening. I suguest you start on your own or if you do have a group of friends with different skills like photo editing expereience and graphics then they'll help you make more professional websites. You need to know how to get stuff for free and make the most of it, java scripts are very good to start off with and php forums and guestbooks for friends work great. if you'd like to talk more then PM me or e-mail me: rhys@rsjg.co.uk

i have come up with a new layout for the site. i no alot of u have been making recommendations to the layout

current home page - http://www.longmanwebdesign.co.uk
new home page. = http://www.longmanwebdesign.co.uk/index1.htm

Please could i have some feedback to what you think of it... especially the flash animation at the top - by the way none of the links work its just the design im focussing on for now and the reason i didnt put this in the review section is because its not complete and this thread has become so large i no those who contributed to it would like to see how ideas have been developed

Regards,
Chris

I like your new site more.

My main suggestion is to put your links (Home, About Us, etc.) on one line instead of two, and change the color since white is not easy to see on a gray background.

I'm in 1400x1050. My IE uses larger DPI font sizes so I think that's why it looks messed up. When I open it in Firefox or set my fonts to act like a normal computer then I see it works good. My mistake!
