i now have my own web design site www.longmanwebdesign.co.uk and i am not sure how i should show a client the design ive made without them just taking it and not paying ? also how should i get them to pay me ? paypal etc
what do you think please give some feedback

Hey,

Well what i do is get them to sign an email, stating how all work belongs to my company, until full payment is recieved, also, on my terms and conditions it states the same thing.

Then, you make the image of the website, save it as an image only, then show them - if they are happy you go ahead and cut it up and slice it. Also, if you working with businesses, the majority of people don't know how to make the site, and are legitimate.

If you really worried - watermark your images first!

i ask for 50% payment before starting, and the rest when everything is done. if you're worried about him running off... try an escrow service (but this is for large projects)

Personally, Id just get a cheque.
Bear in mind for a company they might(should) have records in their books for the payment to you for your work so it will probably be subject to tax.
So expect a bill from the Inland Revenue. Just save enough money to cover the tax and you'll be ok
