Can you help me with learning how to put streaming audio up on a website?

I have been able to learn how to put MP# up on my website, but then someone woudl have to download it first to temp. folder to listen to it. That can take some people much longer to do, really long with an hour audio.

I want to put recorded calls up on the net for people to hear and stream right from the net. without downloading it.

I believe it is an rm file, or a ram file or something....

Can you explain how you do that?

Don't you need a streaming audio server first?

When mp3.com allowed deep linking, I had my page set up to stream several mp3's at the same time, right before they were bought out by Vivendi Universal they put a stop to it...too many people taking advantage of it.

You should be able to stream directly from any server using real media. Just download the Real Producer software (it used to be free, not sure about now) and create a .rm file. Then make a .ram file which is simply a text file which contains the full URL of the .rm file. Finally, link to the .ram file on your website. On most servers this will stream.
