can anyone help waht the best page size to work with also is there a way i can set a page size so i knwo the waht i got to work with witout draing tabel out that page size

Well assuming I deciphered that correctly

It depends!

800x600 is used by between 25% to 45% with 1024x768 and greater making up the rest depending on the type of site. BUT targeting a size is wholly dependent on your target market. If they are likely to be either in the "Silver Surfer" bracket or own older computers then 800x600 should be your ideal other than that 1024x768 should be ok.

It depends on how you write your code

I just use a fixed with div as an overall container and place all the page elements inside that.

You might want to make your pages different sizes (if you are talking about actual mb/kb) size if you are worried about SE spidering. A giant site with all the same size pages might look more "natural"

Why ?

SEs don't "see" or care about page sizes. and BTW the topic is about pixel widths not byte sizes.
