Hello Everybody,

I currently have 2 websites hosted in the one hosting package. Basically, each website has an entirely seperate URL but share the resources of 1 hosting package. 1 website is meant for a Japanese audience and uses Japanese fonts and the other website is for British web-browsers.

The problem I'm having is that (on some PCs), when I view my British Site, a prompt appears saying that the site contains Japanese characters and prompts me to download Japanese font support. The thing is, this particular site DOES NOT feature any Japanese fonts or text at all. It does however link to the site which does - and shares the hosting resources of a site which does, but it does not contain any Japanese text/characters etc...

My question is how can I prevent this prompt appearing on my English only website? It's rather infuriating and confusing for any visitors to my site.

Many thanks for reading this.

Does the british site have the correct text encoding (content-type meta tag)?

Ah!..... On reading your response funkdaddu, I immediately looked at my British site index file and saw the following :

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=Shift_JIS">

I assume I've set some kind of Japanese character set here? Should taking it out solve the problem - what would be the correct text encoding (content-type meta tag)?

Thanks alot for your response funkdaddu!
